In 2026 The Hempel Foundation’s Wilderness has grown from one to four wilderness areas including Asnæs Wilderness, Nørholm Wilderness, Molslaboratoriet and Saksfjed Wilderness. That means even more wild nature, more research collaborations, and more knowledge sharing.

To take The Wilderness to the next level, we’re welcoming four strong new profiles to the team:

Helene Brauner Bisgaard has joined as Administrator at Nørholm Wilderness (from January 1). She extends her position at Nørholm Estate being responsible for the daily operations. She will be the contact person, organizing stays at Nørholm, while contributing to The Wilderness in general.

Axel Frederik Møller joins as Nature Manager at Asnæs Wilderness and Biologist across all our areas (from March 1). Frederik joins us from Den Danske Naturfond, where he has worked with natural areas across Jutland, Zealand, and Funen covering more than 2,000 hectares. He will work between Asnæs and Amaliegade, while also contributing to planning at Nørholm and Saksfjed.

Anna Johanne Sünksen joins as Nature Manager at Nørholm Wilderness (from March 1). She comes from Fugleværnsfonden, where she managed all areas in Jutland. Anna will be based at Nørholm.

Ole Nielsen has served as Operations Manager at Asnæs for 25 years. Going forward (from April 1), he will take on the role of Assistant Nature Manager at Asnæs, with primary responsibility for the supervision and care of animals and fencing.

We’re excited about what we can build together — for nature, for research, and for the future of rewilding in Denmark.
